Cake Boss

Cake Boss

My former colleague, Sam, invited me to go to the TLC festival event in BGC. I saw an advertisement about it and I read that Buddy Valastro of Cake Boss would be there. I always watch Cake Boss because the designs he and his team make are out of this world!

I decided to go because I thought we would see Buddy bake in person and learn new skills from him. (He didn’t though, but that’s fine.) Sam brought two of her friends, too. Janet Hsieh of Fun Taiwan was there and the two chefs that I’m not familiar with.

Anyway, a lot of people were waiting for Buddy Valastro. They had their cameras ready even when he was nowhere in sight yet. When he finally arrived with his wife, Lisa, everybody was screaming in joy for seeing the celebrity baker in person. I was surprised because I didn’t know a lot of people watch Cake Boss. I mean, I didn’t expect that a lot of people are interested in baking shows.

While the people were screaming, suddenly, I wondered if those people who were going crazy to see and greet their idol would also be as excited to meet Jesus…

I remember my young cousins who are so in love with their favorite boy bands. They keep themselves updated on their whereabouts and whatnot. One time I asked them why they obsess with their idols when their idols don’t even know that they exist.

I learned from God’s Word that our hearts are made to worship. God created us by Him and for Him.

“The people whom I formed for Myself that they might declare My praise.” – Isaiah 43:21

“Everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, whom I formed and made.” – Isaiah 43:7

If we are not worshipping the Lord, we are worshipping something/someone else. God is a jealous God in its holiest sense of the word. He doesn’t want anything or anyone in His place. He wants us to worship Him because He deserves it.

“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.” – Psalm 29:2

Caprese Pasta

Caprese Pasta

The fettuccine pasta I used for this is the one I made early today. I sautéed the garlic and cherry tomatoes in olive oil on low heat. I added the drained pasta and dried herbs (thyme, rosemary, oregano, and basil). Then I put some white wine vinegar and salt to taste. I also added mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese then put some fresh basil on top. Happy tummy!

Who Loves You?

Who Loves You?

The lessons in Sunday school this month are aligned with the church’s theme and today, the main verse is Romans 8:39. When we fetched Matty today, he was singing “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so…” It’s a blessing to know that he knows Jesus loves him. ❤️
