Siopao
Papa had been requesting for siopao and I didn’t have the time so I took the opportunity to make some today because I have time. 🙂
Ingredients:
Siopao dough:
260 ml warm (oat) milk
2 tsp dry instant yeast
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 Himalayan salt
500 g all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
100 g sugar
2 tbsp olive oil
lime
Methods:
- Combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Mix well and let it stand for to minutes or until it’s foamy.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, rest of the sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix until it’s well incorporated.
- Add the oil and the lime juice into the flour mixture.
- Add the yeast mixture and mix until it’s well combined.
- Knead the dough until smooth and no longer sticky.
- Form the dough into a ball, cover with a cling wrap and let it rest until it doubles in size.
Filling:
salmon
onion
garlic
celery
red bell pepper
coriander
Himalayan salt
olive oil
I just sauteed everything in olive oil and cooked it well.
